Welcome to the Night Shift. Sometimes you need to flip the script…
In 2016, a previously unknown artist called 24HRS arrived on the scene and built a large following off the back of songs like “Time,” “U Know,” “Back For Me,” and “Deepend”.
Millions of plays later, speculation was rife as to the real identity of the artist behind the handle.
‘Twenty’ turned out to be Robert Davis (previously known as the rapper Royce Rizzy) and his new persona was born from a decision to ‘flip the script’ and re-envision his sound, style, and even his name.
His blend of futuristic R&B - which combines nineties vocal prowess with 21st century nocturnal rap production - won him some influential fans like Ty Dolla $ign, G-Eazy, Carnage, Post Malone, Gucci Mane, Juicy J and Blackbear.
Before he went on a 44-date tour with Blackbear, 24 HRS spent a week holed up in Hollywood’s Paramount Recording Studio to record his Night Shift EP which he describes as “2017 meets early 2000s R&B.”
